Not to over project my own foibles, but speaking as an Enneagram 1 who’s done a lot of life driven by shoulds and ideals, one of my prayers for you is to live again in a land of green and water. Just because it makes a good metaphor or pilgrimage, just because early Jews and Christians lived near them, just because a great job happened to be in the middle of one, doesn’t mean the desert has to be your home or hearts place.
